cadaverous flower at RBlanco, Veracruz

The largest flower in the world bloomed in RBlanco, Veracruz, Mexico last December. Called Amorphophallus titanum (Araceae) or the "cadaverous flower", it measures 2 meters in height (6.5') and weighs 75 kilos (165 lbs) and has the peculiarity of blooming for only three days every 40 years.

Yes, it's beautiful but the odor. Why do you think that it is called the "cadaverous flower". Right, it smells like one.
