¡Hola, amigos costeños! Wow, this forum resembles the "panteones" after the Día de Muertos! Well, fortunately there are enthusiastic people who are very interested in knowing more about Xalapa and the surrounding area. Stephen and Marie have started "Visit Xalapa" http://www.VisitXalapa.net and are looking for participants. They haven't even been here before! And speaking of people never visiting Xalapa before, and deciding to live here, is a couple from Cleveland, Ohio(Dennis and Ellen). They made the firm decision 8 years ago that they wanted to retire in Mexico, and 5 years ago determined that Xalapa was right for them. They first contacted me about 8 months ago, and after several long chats via Internet phone, they arrived here 4 months ago. Since then they have found a very nice furnished apartment(not one of mine!!!!) to rent, very near downtown and have become frequent visitors and my friends. Looking forward to hearing more from other Xalapa fans. BTW, I just got an interesting phone call from a gentleman who works at ATX(Aguas Tratadas de Xalapa), a company which is installing a waste water system for the city of Xalapa. This is excellent news, because until now all the sewage of this city has just been dumped into the local rivers. ¡Hasta pronto, amigos! Roy B.
