How can a geographically specific forum center on the Gulf of Mexico and exclude that part of the Gulf that is unquestionably the nicest part of that sea in Mexico that fronts the Yucatan Peninsula from about Celestun on the east to Isla Holbox at the confluence of the Gulf and the Caribbean? Campeche State is excluded as well but, what the hell, the Gulf ain´t that nice there although Campeche town is a beautiful if dull place.

If I ever decided to live on a beach in Mexico , that area on the Gulf between Progreso and Isla Holbox would be my choice bar none.

Just curious.

I will agree with you that Campeche is boring. Although it is one place you can still buy colonials in the historical district for a reasonable price. I have never been further east than here. Although if you like a small town feel, consider Champoton. Great seafood. Although this is not rare in Mexico. The town will be nicer when the bypass is built. Too many large tracks coming through.
