Driving to Cozumel

Capufe reported last night at 9:30 that the 145D at Acayucan is closed in both directions due to flooding. So I'll guess we'll sit this out in Fortin de las Flores until further notice.

If anyone sees anything on Mexican TV that sheds some light let us know.

Know a different route? The map doesn't show much, Chiapas is flooded to the south.

The forecast doesn't seem to include much rain.

I am at the 145D and 150D interchange. 145, 145D and 180 are all still closed.

The truckers I am hanging around with strongly suggest not to take the mountain roads in Oaxaca. There is a lot of Narco and desperate people there.

When the truckers go I will follow.

We took the road that goes through Oaxaca and turns east through San Cristóbal. No problems. Very slow going, from Tuxtepec to Palomares. Tons of traffic, consequently no opportunity for anyone to rob someone unseen. Most of the time, we were bumper-to-bumper. Had a good two day stay in Chiapas and then made it to Palenque in normal time. Arrived in cozumel Sunday.
