guanajuato language school?

Can't Post | Private Reply
Hi ...

I'd like to attend a school in Guanajuato this summer for 2 or 3 weeks to study Spanish. One that is able to arrange homestay accomodations.

Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance,

Tom

There are a few schools in Guanajuato. If you're looking for a good intensive program, The 3-week PLUS program at this school is very good: Escuela Mexicana (http://www.escuelamexicana.com/). If you're not into homework, you can opt for regular classes.

The school also owns a dorm/hostel/hotel (http://www.casamexicanaweb.com/) that is near in proximity to the school. Or you could choose to stay with a family.

Another excellent school is the Instituto Miguel de Cervantes - http://www.spanish-immersion.com/. There are some apartments available for rent at the school, which is a little ways out of town near the Valenciana mines, or they can place you with a family. The school provides private bus transportation to/from school. Classes are small (6-8) and the instructors are top-notch. Whatever you choose, you will enjoy your visit to Guanajuato. It's a fascinating and unique city. Enjoy!

Hi Lyn and Tio Toņo,

Thanks for your helpful suggestions. So far, the "one-on-one" setup at Escuela Mexicana sounds very attractive.

I'm planning on being in Guanajuato in July. Any suggestions for things to do, things to be careful not to do? Any better-than-the-others guidebooks to the area?

Thanks again for taking the time to reply - much appreciated.
