Looking for a Home to Buy in San Juan del Rio

Hi All!

I have been living in Mexico for only about one year now. I currently rent a home in ciudad Madero, Tam. the tri cities of Altamira, Tampico and Madero is one of the dirtiest places (cities) I have seen. I am now moving to a rental house near San Juan del Rio in Queretaro. I really like this very clean and nice city. It is totally different in culture and manners of any other Mexican city I have currently been to. Colder? . . . . . yes, but certainly a lot less humid also. The people are great and the driving is not anything like the tri cities of Tamaulipus. Drivers here for the most part are certainly more polite and are not driving with intimidation attitudes. This is for sure a really nice tranquile smaller city with good amenities. Only a short 25 minute drive by the auto pista from the larger Queretaro.

I would like to buy a home in this city. Looking for a three bedroom, two bath with a nice size garden AND a patio. Single level if possible. If anyone knows of such place please drop me a line. I would really appreciate it.

Hola Robert,
You may want to rent for a year or two before you decide to buy in San Juan del Rio. The culture might seem better than where you came from in Madero... BUT, after dealing with the true San Juan way of life for awhile you may wish you hadn't bought that house.

Over half the men have worked or lived in the US for a year or more, it is a very ranchero mindset and even though they seem simple and genuine, it may cause you to run screaming tothe town of Tequisquiapan or some other estado after about 4 or 5 years (like we did).

Just a thought from a former San Juan resident... (2002 - 2007) we are 1,000% happier now than we ever were in San Juan - oh yeah, doctors and hospitals are horrible in the town (they all seem to have gone to veteranary school, not med school), always go to Queretaro city if you need any real medical help.

Buena suerte!

BIL,

I visited your website which mentions that you were moving to Colima. However your website doesn't seem to have any blog entries after your proposed move in 2007.

Have you a blog that you've been posting to, since that time?
If so, please post a link. Thanks. Wendy

Thanks Halfmex . . .

I love the ranchero mindset . . .I am going to be working in a medical clinic myself in Queretaro. Orthopedics and Prosthetics.
