Cuernavaca B&B

Can't Post | Private Reply
We would like to plan a trip to Cuernavaca for this coming September 2007 and am looking for a good place to stay, either a B&B or a spa, maybe split some time between the two. This is our second trip to Mexico looking for a place that we might also like to make our new retirement home. We would like to hire a guide that knows the area well and can show us around. For the B&B I would like to keep the cost around a $100. US or so. Spa would most likely be more. I understand that we would most likely fly into Mexico DF and bus from there? Anybody have any suggestions? Side trips reccomendations accepted also.

While I try never to encourage or discourage anyone from moving to Cuernavaca, this information may be useful to you.

I can’t help you in recommending a B&B since I have no personal experience with any of them, you may find this link useful http://www.clickoncuernavaca.com/
You will find a lot of information about Cuernavaca and Morelos State, and a link to The Newcomers Club, which is an English Speaking ex-pat group here. There is a link on The Newcomers site to contact them via Email. On the Click on Cuernavaca home page, scroll down and click on the link for "Grngo groups". You will find a listing for city tours there. You can also click on the "Services in Cuernavaca" button at the top of the home page, and find a listing for a van and/or tour guide with a name and phone number. The man speaks English.

I recommended this site to a lady that was thinking of retiring in Cuernavaca a few years ago. She decided to retire elsewhere, but she did tell me that The Newcomers were very helpful in finding her and her husband a very nice B&B to stay at.

There is a lot of good information on The Click on Cuernavaca site. Be aware that the Immigration office in Cuernavaca is an absolute monster to deal with. Speak Spanish.

There is no direct International airline service to Cuernavaca, so flying in to México City and taking a bus to Cuernavaca is the best way to get here from The US. We are only 52 miles from México City, so it is not a long bus ride.
