nayerit car jackings on toll road

i just read some car jackings that happened on the toll area from tepic to san blas.... right after the toll booth area, pick up trucks with armed individuals blocking vehicle and taking passenger to dirt road to be left minus the vehicle and any other monetary items. one happened at 7 20 pm the others after midnight and around 3 pm.

be aware of vehicles at toll plazas and on side roads next to highways. do as your told and give them your vehicle.

Would you please post the dates of these happenings. Are you seeing something new or merely reporting what happened last spring?

this happened the last 2 weeks.... read it on www.nayaritenlinea.mx not only trucks, but regular volkswagen bora....... it happed to these people after they passed the first toll plaza thats very close to populated area.

Without digging to find the statistics, I recall that a high percentage of auto thefts involve violence or threats of violence, so not too surprising. However, the toll roads are generally regarded as safer, so having this happen on the toll roads is a concern.

Of course, daylight travel is safer for many reasons, including car jackings and other criminal activity.

It would seem to make some sense with respect to the use of violence. According to EXCELSIOR:

plenty of car jackings in sinaloa right after the federal police headquarters ... 5k or so... even with a politician being a victim at night... after those car jackings... the federal police was spaced out every 40 kilometers to respond to any emergency... and there was another car jacking at 9 30 am...

the hermosillo car jackings have been violent according to the news.... and they are also using home made spike strips to stop the vehicles and proceed to get violent with passengers....

the news i posted is simply horrible.... so close to the city and without any federal police patroling the areas.... seems to me there are people at the food places on the toll plazas sending notice ahead for possible victims.
