For several years now, we have been driving a stretch of Mexico 80 east of Lagos de Moreno, a very bad and dangerous road. Although recently there has been some pavement repair outside of Lagos, the real mystery is that new, not far from complete, parallel road that would be vastly faster and safer. But there it sits, roughly 20 miles of it, never being worked on.
Is it a bankrupt toll road or something like that? Why would Jalisco want to continue to waste money trying to patch up the very bad old stretch of road that parallels this one instead of finishing it?
Strange, to say the least.
