Tile Stores in Guadalajara?

Can't Post | Private Reply
Greetings all - does anyone have a recommendation for a GIANT tile store in Guadalajara? I am looking for a decorative porcelain, high-fire tile border (NOT Talavera) to match white porcelain tile in my bathroom. I've noticed a bunch of tile stores in Guad and a lot of them seem, driving by, to have a large selection but I wondered if anyone had any experience with any of them and could recommend one that dealt in the higher fire stuff. I only need a few meters of it, it's a border, but I would love to find someplace that had a really good selection! Just haven't found what I have been looking for Lakeside, but welcome any suggestions for around here too.

Mil gracias--

Have you tried the large tile store on the right as you drive into Jocotepec? We bought tile there and found that they have a good selection of high-fire tiles. The owner was very helpful in finding tiles that were not on display in front.

Thanks, yes, we have gone and talked to her (can't remember her name!)and she didn't have the exact size and kind I was looking for but I do have a photo of something I liked a lot (saw in Merida!) and I promised I'd show it to her --- maybe she can come up with something similar --

gracias

Hello:
The Largest selection of Tile Stores in Guadalajara is Av. Niños Heroes between Federalismo and 16 de Septiembre... If you look for talavera tiles I can supply custom ones from Guanajuato at my warehouse in Tlaquepaque...

The best tile store that I've found in Guadalajara is:
El Rincón del Barro Mexicano
Avenida Niños Héroes No. 1633-A
Colonia Moderna 44190
Guadalajara
Tel: 33-3585-8788
Owner: Ing. José I. Arias Quirarte

He has samples of everything and is also willing to do special design orders. I've bought from him many times and recommend him highly, both for service and price. His prices are much, much less expensive than prices for the same tiles in Tlaquepaque or Tonalá. I've checked.

Hola NEOhio,
If you're looking for Talavera tile in the greater Guadalajara area, may I suggest a look at Alex-Sary on Av. Tonaltecas #136 in Tonala. They have a nice selection of them. The prices are the same as in Dolores Hidalgo. The quality is very good and they have many of the more sophisticated patterns. We've ordered from them repeatedly and they're very reliable.
