For those of you who have yet to experience the incredible journey of the Virgen de Zapopan back to her home in the Bascilica in Zapopan with the attendant pomp and circumstance and overwhelming devotion of people on their knees crawling to the church - you are missing something incredible.

The romería (procession) from the Cathedral to the Basílica de Zapopan for the Virgen de Zapopan is always on her feast day, October 12...el Día de la Raza.

The procession this year was approximately a million and a half strong. People come from all over Mexico to follow La Generala (a nickname for Our Lady of Zapopan) to her home at the Basílica.

We were at our home near Guadalajara during this time.... The area news coverage lasted for several days.... The family watched every new cast and prayed to it when ever it showed....
