Manzanillo power plant--still belching smoke?

This oil burning smoke belching nightmare of a power plant in Manzanillo was supposed to have been converted to natural gas in 2012 but when we went through there in January, it was still belching toxic smoke. It is the reason we stopped going to that area to go to the beach. We would wake up in the morning and find our car covered in yellow ick from it.

Has it finally been switched over? Can't seem to find a report on the status.

It was supposedly switched over in the past few weeks. Drove thru the area a few days ago and the air was much cleaner than it had been lately. It was incredibly smoggy during the previous few months, worse than the worst days in Guadalajara.

I read this. It sounds like they are still burning some fuel oil. Sparks, what do you see from your vantage point in Manzanillo?

Haven't been to Manzanillo for awhile and we've had overcast and rain for two weeks so not much to see
