Manzanillo Pet Friendly hotels.

We are in Ajijic for the winter and want to spend a week on the beach at Manzanillo or Barra de Navidad. We are travelling with a small dog that weighs 9 pounds. Can you suggest any pet friendly hotels near the beach.

There should be no problems at this hotel - http://www.hotel-la-posada.info/.

The Posada is right on the beach in the Las Brisas section of Manzanillo - very laid back, with great breakfasts. We really enjoy staying there - but not everyone is the same.

Agree about La Posada, but when we asked they made it clear that the dog was not allowed in public areas - no problem as she stayed on the lawn just outside the open bar/restaruant area when we were eating, drinking, visiting - and that bringing the animal was subject to receiving permission, which they readily gave.

I've already been in touch with the hotel La Posada (thanks bournemouth), but does anyone know of anywhere in Barra that might accept a dog? Thanks.

Hello

Well, as you haven't gotten a reply from anyone with current experience, let me share mine.
But keep in mind this is from January 2006.

We were meeting some friends in Barra for new years.
I emailed the Hotel Barra De Navidad. They said we could bring our cat and bunny rabbit.

When we got there they said they didn't take pets!
I couldn't remember who was the person who emailed and said it was okay.
BUT they did let us stay with our critters.

So, I have the website and email address listed below.
Email them and if they agree, PRINT OUT the email, and have it with you when you check in.

Barra is pretty tough, I know we were refused at the Hotel B. de Navidad, so I wouldn't trust them, on the other hand Melaque next door, which actually has a nicer beach, is possible, the hotels owned by the Camino del Mar owner, which have inexpensive or expensive, whichever you chose, do accept dogs.
