Looking for the following things in Guadalajara

Can't Post | Private Reply
Hello,
My five-year old son and I moved to Guadalajara last August and after getting settled I am still in search or in need of recommendations for the following and thought this might be a good place to get some suggestions. Thanks.

I would appreciate recommendations on the following:
1. activities for kids such as: sports classes/schools and arts/music classes for kids
2. pediatrician and pediatric dentist
3. dentist (for adults)
4. general practice doctor for myself (preferably a female Dr.)
5. baby sitter
6. spanish tutor/classes (I speak pretty well but would like to improve)
7. medical insurance

I always prefer to find these types of things through recommendations from others so all suggestions/recommendations are appreciated! If you prefer to send a private message that is fine.

Thanks for your help.

Liesl

Hola, Liesl,

I just heard about a very neat thing to do with kids in Guadalajara. It's the Museo del Nino de Guadalajara with a current showing called "globo" mi ciudad pequena!. I think it's in the Unidad Administrativa de Reforma, but I'm not sure. Telefono es 36 69 13 81 o 36 69 13 00. A friend of mine says that it's the best museum for kids.

As for a Spanish tutor, Jim and I are taking semi-private lessons at Vocablo, with a teacher who is working out well for us. If you want to find out more about this school and their resources, you can call Jared (bilingual director of the school) at 3630-1890. They are located just south of the Ninos Heroes Monumento.
