I was wondering if anyone could recommend a place or places that sell leather furniture..........not equipale, but real leather? Thanks in advance!

In the past, I have seen leather and wood sofas (not equipale style) at the ADOBE in Tlaquepaque. You might take a look at the following:

Not the least expensive place around but overall, their quality appears to be quite good.

Now that I have had time to think about it, I have also seen all leather sofas in the better furniture gallery type shops in Tonala. Most of these galleries are concentrated on both sides of the main drag (the multi lane divided road going straight coming off the perifico - sorry I cannot remember the name). BUT many of these seemed to be of a more contemporary design.

Lots of places in Guadalajara that sell leather furniture (non equipal). T The first that comes to mind (and where I bought mine) is muebles placencia . http://www.mueblesplacencia.com/ Have also seen them in liverpool, Fabricas de francia and sears

Last winter, we bought a leather-upholstered recliner love seat--second hand, about a year old--from a man at Lake Chapala who bought it originally at Plascencia. The quality is great and we are 100% satisfied with it.

I've also shopped in a store in Guadalajara called Tutto Pelle. It's a national chain that sells only leather furniture, which is modern and beautiful; I haven't lived with it, so I can't recommend its serviceability.
