Guadalajara - What to see and do?

We are planning a short trip to Guadalajara in early March, and were wondering if anybody has any specific suggestions as to what we should see or do.

I did some searching here, but came up with surprisingly little. Maybe I did not use the right search words.

We probably will not do much shopping. We have spent many hours lately, including today, going through our stuff and throwing a lot of it out. We are in no hurry to get more stuff. We don't have room for all the stuff we have. :-( We will probably go to some markets anyway, if only to look.

I am a museum hound, my spouse tolerates an occasional museum. Live music is something that we both enjoy.

We are staying downtown at the Hotel San Francisco Plaza. We do not plan to have a car, so we will use taxis and buses.
