I know fresh Baja mussels are available in PV because several restaurants serve them, but where oh where can I buy some to cook myself? Also, hopefully, Baja cockles, an unimaginably tasty treat....

Have you tried asking the restaurants where they buy? Seems obvious, so you've probably already thought of that.

Yes, since I'm not a regular diner in any of the restaurants which serve excellent mussels, I'm not getting the answers I need.
I have found plenty of frozen New Zealand mussels here, but they are not at all desirable! They're huge, tough, and yucky.....
But oh my! The fresh Baja mussels.....absolute heaven! And those cockles I mention were the meal of the trip to Cabo many years ago. Eaten from a styro cup, cockle ceviche with crisp crackers, just perfect!

Here's a couple suggestions from a friend of mine:
Try calling a restaurant, like La Piazzetta (they usually have mussels on their menu) at 322-222-0650 or she could try calling Pro-Mar which is a seafood distributer just off the Libramiento and Fco. Villa. 322-222-7756.

Why do t you go to the Mercado del Mar in Zapopan and ask the merchants if they can get them if they do not have them for sale.

Zapopan is a long way to go for seafood for someone in PV.

Thanks, Sue... ProMar referred me to Baja Seafood, which has apparently shut down. But I'm not giving up.....

First I am confident that you are aware that shell fish can turn to poison if not harvested carefully?
Second I would try asking the Chef ,owner at Vitea 22 28703 his name is Wolf, him and his partner who also own Trio 222 2196 who's name is Bernard buy lots of seafood and my wife has had mussels when available at both of the latter restaurants.
