Cooler weather

Yesterday we drove back from the beach after spending the holidays in Barra de Navidad. In the 2 plus weeks we were there we had some unusual weather. Sometimes hotter than normal and also a heavy rain one early morning. When we arrived in Guadalajara we got a call from a relative and they were again getting a heavy shower but this time with a lot of thunder and lightning. Not at all common for this time of the year.

As we passed the volcanos we were treated with a lovely view of the Nevado de Colima's peak covered in snow. Outside of Hawaii, is there another volcano or tall mountain as close to a tropical ocean that also gets snow?

After the warmth of the coast, the cool weather here in Guadalajara seems almost frigid. But then whwn I logged on to the web this morning I saw a -52F temp in North Dakota! You think they wouldn't trade places with us??!!
