American murdered in downtown Guadalajara

Does anyone know the name of the American who was killed in downtown Gdl recently? One report said he was remodeling a home in el centro and his body was found by some workers. I know someone who fits that description and am wondering if it were he.

According to the Guadalajara Reporter the name is Joe William Johnson, age 69.
