I lived in Leon for 3 years--until 2 months ago. Let me have more details and I will be able to advise you better--e.g., where do you want to live in Leon, what is your budget, etc.

thanks for your quick respond! i am looking in the price range between 300 to 500 u.s. dollars. The lesser the better. The areas that i would like will be around ( la central) also known for the bus terminal or ( el centro) I believe there is another place that would be nice and is call ( la plaza).I want to be central.another words close to everything if possible.Specialy close to transportation.I dont have a car.But if i could save money and live in a decent secure place i would consider that also.Again, i am only trying out the location. Also with furniture.Or if not, were can i rent it.Thanks..

Leon is a big city--1.5 million, so there is nowhere that is the center of everything. You should be able to find something in your price range, but it won't be the"best." Leon has (had?) a good bus system--but it is currently being changed. Starting in August, there will be a central bus line with terminals--this requires changing buses to get to areas off the central line. I'm not sure how this will work, but being on the central line (Blvd. Lopez Mateos) would make your life easier.

Anyway--if you can speak Spanish, call Gilberto Velazquez at : 011-52-477-705-0502. He's a realtor in Leon. Also, try the web version of a.m., the best newspaper in Leon at: http://www.am.com.mx.

In the long run, you will probably have to go to Leon to find what you want. As a foreigner, you may have to put up a large deposit--it depends on the landlord. Good luck!

That's why you may need to pay a larger deposit. It's really up to the landlord.
