Can anyone give me the name of a good realtor in SMA for renting a property? We are looking for a casita for 3-6 months starting sometime this July or Aug

The conventional wisdom for renting a place in San Miguel is to stay in a hotel for a few days and then actually physically checkout any places for rent in person. An advertised casita might be charming but the neighborhood might not be. If you rely on someone who earns a commission, you might get stuck. Once you get to SMA, you will find numerous listings of places for rent in Atencion, the english language newspaper. I would also suggest you join one of the list serves which relate specifically to the area. The civilsma list has lots of messages from private individuals many of whom are seeking people to house-sit their homes for free in exchange for caring for the pets and generally making sure everything is OK. Thanks for giving me the Craigs List. I will be in SMA in June and am wanting to speak with a realtor and look at rentals but I know not all realtors are honest. I would like to know of a good realtor so when I arrive I can have name that I can trust (as much as possible)

If you really want to go through a rental agent, I would recommend Graciela Loyola with San Miguel Management. I have worked with her professionally on the Board of Directors of the Biblioteca and have the highest respect for her.
