i am looking for wall hanging and rugs does anyone know of a place in guanajuato city or an area in the city that has this type of stuff ( mexican of course)

You may know of this place by now. I found a handbill in the tourist office at Plaza de Paz about a store with textiles (rugs) from Oaxaca. They are of all sizes and are beautiful. The prices seemed reasonable to me although I am not an expert on Oaxaca rugs. The store is beyond Bar Fly on the way to Pastita. It is opposite a chain restaurant popular with the locals whose name I cannot recall right now. If you are interested in the exact name and location of the place let me know and I will walk over and get names. I currently live near the university but if you want the info its OK- It will be a good walk for me.

Milt i am intrested as i am also looking for handwoven cotton bedspreads, any help would be appreciated.

Pat, Not sure they have the cotton. I saw wool everywhere. I've not gotten back over that way as I thought I would. I saw rugs and clothing. They may have bedspreads as well, I'm not sure. However, the store is opposite VIPS restaurant near Teatro Cervantes and Plaza Allende. Go towards Pastita and the baseball stadium. You can't miss VIPS on the right. The store with the textiles is across the calle.

I think the wool bedspreads etc. come from Bernal in Queretaro - a nice place to visit and order what you want, if you can't find it on the shelves.
