car broken down

Hola,
We drove to Mexico from the USA in August and have a vehicle permit. The car is a 1999 vehicle. It is now broken down :(
Does anyone know the current information about what happens if you cannot physically get your car out of the country? We are in Oaxaca now and are looking to find a way to get us, our 10 year old, and our doggie back to Texas asap... no car is not helping!
Please help!

Also, note that I have tried abt 5 mechanics and they cannot seem to fix it or correctly diagnose the problem.

Take photos, have a mechanic or two write that the car is irreparable, take the photos and letters to the local Aduana office. Find out from them what are your options.
