cabinas at Centro Turistico Angahuan

We are going to be doing research at Paricutin Volcano in early January and need a place to base from for around a week. There will be at least 7 adults and possibly 9 adults and 2 children (a 6 year old and a 3 year old). I have read mixed things about the cabinas at the Centro Turistico Angahuan. Have any of you stayed at these cabinas (not the dormitories, but the cabins themselves), and if so, would it be suitable for my 3 year old daughter? Also, has anyone stayed at place called Cabanya de Pancingo (sp?) in or near Nuevo San Juan de Parangaricutiro. Or would you recommend basing in Uruapan -- how far time wise is Uruapan from Angahuan and Nuevo San Juan (and any recommendations for where to stay on the west side of town).

Hi! I have actually been to Patzingo, which is very near to the volacano. There is a big cabin, with bunk beds (dormitories) which is actually very nice. There also is a family cabin with two rooms, bathroom, and kitchen. It is very nice, that I have seen. I am not sure about other cabins, however I was there in August and was told that there were new cabins still in construction. You could get further information at the Comunidad Indigena of Nuevo Parangaricutiro website (just put those words into any search engine to get the website). I am from the town close to the Paricutin called San Juan Nuevo. I live in Sacramento, CA. I could suggest staying in San Juan, which is closer, than staying in Uruapan. San Juan is a small town, but widley visited. I am planning on going to San Juan in December and returning at the end of January, if by any chance you need any help.
Maria
