The weather sure has been unpredictable, but I think that's happening worldwide--global warming or something. The Herald said we reached 88-90F (around 28 C) a couple of days, but around 35-40 (around 5 C) at night.

I have to wear a sweatshirt for morning classes at Belles Artes, a thick-walled former convent which holds that night chill long into the day, and then when I come out into the street at 1 I need short sleeves and a sun hat. We usually don't need to tuck umbrellas into our purses until June, but today's rain was welcome.

Naturally, the landlord just painted our casas yesterday, and I expect streaks when I go outside, but oh well, this is Mexico.

It's been thundering and lightning in Ajijic this week, too. Most unusual, but...

There's a weather saying in Mexico: Febrero loco, marzo otro poco...February's crazy, and March is a little crazier. Here we are proving the old adage true.

It rained again tonight, too (Friday), ruining a perfectly lovely roof party. Good for the water situation though. Is rainy season starting three months early this year?

Not likely. Hang onto your hat, the heat is coming.

Marzo otro poco...
