If I arrive at the Morelia bus station between 10pm and midnight I assume the only transportation to Patzcuaro would be via taxi. Does anyone know what the taxis charge?

Why do you want to take a cab to Patzcuaro? There are buses that are a lot cheaper. Get a hotel for the night in Morelia and grab a bus in the morning for a unique ride with the local folk. You'll end up in Patcuaro with lots of options for lodging and sightseeing.

around 100 pesos from morelia to patz, but can be more later in the evening. we live in patz and you can also get a radio taxi to pick you up

What's a radio taxi? Do you recommend that over the taxis waiting at the airport? Thanks, again!: around 100 pesos from morelia to patz, but can be more later in the evening. we live in patz and you can also get a radio taxi to pick you up

A radio taxi is one which is hailed by a telephone call to the dispatcher, who then sends out a taxi to a specified address. They are a little more expensive.The taxis which operate from Morelia's airport are all specifically designated for airport runs, and they are safe. They operate on a set scale of fares according to zone.If you are flying to the Morelia with Patzcuaro as your final destination, I would recommend that you simply take a taxi from MLM to Patzcuaro instead of fooling around with a taxi to the bus station. The cab fare from MLM to Patzcuaro will be around $500 M.N. Morelia's airport is about 30 minutes east of Morelia, out in the country. Patzcuaro is 36 miles west of Morelia. That makes Patzcuaro a little more than an hour's drive from MLM.The bus station in Morelia is out on the north end of town, near the futbol stadium. Traditionally, the hotels out in that direction are moteles de paso.
