The reports in from the state department of tourism show:<p>- During the first stage of Semana Santa (which doesn’t officially conclude until 7 April), income generated by tourism is up 18.58%<p>- Data reported by hoteliers throughout the state for Thursday, Friday and Saturday of last week reveal a global average occupancy of 80% with Lazaro Cardenas, Morelia, Uruapan, Patzcuaro and Maravatio reporting 100% occupancy.<p>- Over 20 million dollars introduced into the economy.<p>- 119,941 tourists<p>- Average length of stay was 3.5 days<p>- D.F., State of Mexico, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Queretaro, San Luis Potosi, Nuevo Leon, Puebla, Tamaulipas and Morelos brought in the greatest number of national tourists.<p>- Foreign tourists hailed from the United States, France, Canada, Germany, Spain, Italy, Holland, Colombia, England and Japan.<p>- A remarkable reduction in the affluence of visitors from the United States was noted.<p>- The greater number of foreign tourists came not from neighboring countries or even the American Continent, but from Europe.<p>- In addition to the traditional Easter venues, the most-visited sites were Parque Nacional Eduardo Ruiz in Uruapan, Lago de Camecuaro, the zoo in Morelia, and the Islands of Janitzio and Yunuen.<p>- The Green Angels’ routes covered a total of 31,868 km, tending to the needs of 2,389 tourists and 449 vehicles. <p>This is only a preliminary report.
