One of the first things my partner and I have to get upon setting foot en la República Méxicana is a paleta. My partner waxes ecstatic over the flavor of mango.

I don't think I have the heart to tell him that with the increased Hispanic population in our Dallas suburb, La Michoacana paletas are now being wheeled up and down our streets. It would probably be the final straw that pushes him into diabetes.

Great article. My favorite flavor is tequila ice cream. Once in awhile they make avocado ice cream too.

Guanábana is my favorite...unless it's coco...or...nieve de fresa (like a strawberry sorbet, pure fruit and wonderful).

And my favorite paleta is mango!
