Retiring to San Miguel de Allende?

Can't Post |

All of the information you're asking about is available already on MexConnect--just keep reading in all the nooks and crannies. Too many people write in and ask, "Tell me everything you know," without doing their homework first. Others have already written the books.
That said, don't move here without a lengthy visit first to make sure you like it. No desktops, just laptops can be brought in on a tourist visa, and an apt. will have a small TV (probably cable, which you can upgrade to get the U.S. networks and HBO, etc.). You can find apts for $500 or less here, but most will be more.
Carol Schmidt (retired here in May)
: I am a 59 year old American citizen considering the idea of living in San Miguel de Allende. I've heard good things about it from several people. : What is the best way to do this? Six month tourista visa? And if I like it, keep renewing it? : Anybody have any contacts in San Miguel that I can communicate with? : On a tourista visa, can I bring in my TV and desk top computer? : What is the exchange rate for the US dollar? What kind of apartment could I rent in San Miguel for $500 US dollars per month? : Thanks, : Ira
