Rental Car in Morelia?

Couple of questions:

Looking up rental cars online... I see an economy model, no air conditioning for $204/week.

1. In July, given the typical weather, do you think it would be necessary to have air conditioning?

2. Would it be less expensive to rent a car locally AFTER arrival from a local company rather than renting online from one of the major companies?

I don't think you're going to find anything much less costly than what you've already found. Air conditioning is definitely not needed in July in Morelia -- or Patzcuaro.

Don't forget about insurance. The $204 doesn't include it. I was told $15/day for insurance with a deductable. $25/day no deductable.
