I've just returned to the upper midwest from three wonderful (and warm) weeks in the Bahio. There's a new hostel in Queretaro que vale la pena. It's the Gemas House, at #99 16 de Septiembre Oriente, a pleasant five-minute walk from the centro. It features a huge garden behind the private home of the owners, giving an air of privacy and tranquility. A simple but comfortable private room with bath was $21 USD. The hot water appears within 30 seconds night or day...isn't that amazing! The host and hostess were middle-aged, very pleasant, with limited English.
