Ah, Pozos. Been there, often. Always took visiting friends there. Writers and artists are always looking for such places. Sometimes they even stay, if they have a source of income from outside Pozos. Otherwise, it's "starving artist" country.

Pozos is so cold in the winter months that you can leave San Miguel wearing a light sweater and end up there with a wool cap and the heaviest jacket you own, complete with scarf and mittens.

Went on an "art tour" bus one time. We were to spend three hours before meeting the bus to go home. We toured, we lunched and then we explored. Thought that bus would never come.

Now, I'm not saying that Pozos isn't an interesting place to visit, maybe even stay overnight at one of the beautiful hotels. But live there? Can't imagine it. Too many ghosts. Like those of the 300 plus Indians up at the Santa Brigida mine. Big cave in. Then that big open pit, said to contain some political problem people. Our tour guide dropped a rock down there. Seemed like forever before it hit bottom. Eerie.

So, by all means, visit Pozos. Especially if you are a photographer. Great visuals. Then go home where it's warm and there's more air in the air.
