Or you could pick up a hobby like surfing, climbing hikeing so many thing's there that you can do and they are at your finger tip's in Mexico!!!

I think you’ll find Uruapan a delightful place to live. Until you’ve integrated yourself into the country, you are going to be looked at differently. And even afterward, it’s still going to take more than a lifetime before you’ll pass for a native. Meanwhile, concentrate upon learning the language, this country’s customs and the lay of the land before contemplating earning money. Hobbies are a great way to learn about a new country.
Now, about making that income. The Living, Working & Retiring Forum is a better venue for that discussion, but as a foreigner, you’re going to need permission from INAMI to work.

:Bring plenty of books to read. I don't know how much Spanish you know, but try to involve yourself with the neighbors by having parties, playing cards, organizing walking trips ard Urupan, etc. Whe I lived there, I often thought of myseld as a "professional American" i.e. I had to display all of the postive attributes and none of the negative ones. I pushed myself to participate in whatever I could. What does your husband do? Maybe, through his work friends' wives you could develop more interests and activities. Please feel free to write me.
