Mexico's real deal
Working town Guanajuato offers authentic experience in the colonial heartland

Pia Sarkar, Chronicle Staff Writer
Guanajuato, Mexico -- Why I had traveled to Guanajuato looking for Europe, I don't know.

After a four-hour bus ride from loud, busy Mexico City, I stared out the window of the taxi watching for the "European-style" Mexico that the guidebooks had promised. [more]

Of course we always get good press. Can't wait to check out the articles.
FYI, my photography of the Missions of the Sierra Gorda was published in the LA Times Travel section today.

Congratulations on getting your photographs printed in the LA Times!

It's always a struggle: tell people how great it is here in SMA or keep it to ourselves so too many newcomers won't spoil it.

Thanks for the congratulations, but the photo that was published in the LA Times was of the mission facade in Jalpan, and had nothing to do with San Miguel.
