Hello everyone - I posted earlier seeking info about traveling to SMA or another nearby city in early 2008. Since then I have learned about the Carmina Suites hotel - http://www.carminasuites.com/index.php?enghome. It's a bit pricier than I wanted - $700 monthly - but, being a hotel, offers more services than I would get with an apartment. I have corresponded briefly with someone who has lived there four months, and he says it is clean, functional, and safe - my basic requirements. I also have learned that it is close to, although uphill from, the jardin. Does anyone else have any further information? Anything that might be a deal breaker, like beds as hard as cement, a "ventilation" system that pumps cigarette smoke into the rooms, bedrooms without windows, or staff that is unfriendly and/or unhelpful? FWIW, I speak a passable Spanish and will be bringing my four-year-old son and two cats. Thank you for any information you can share.
