I have stayed at El Trebol twice, once for 2 weeks(Nov 2000)and once for only 1 week (Feb 2002) while I studied Spanish at Instituto Falcon in Guanajuato. El Trebol is actually a private home that rents out extra rooms. The lady's name is Ayda Porto. She is from Colombia. Her husband works at the Univ of Gto and is from Belgium. They have one son, who must be about 13 or so now. Members of the family speak French, Spanish, English and some Italian. The rooms are nothing fancy, but the price is great. The price may have risen, but I paid 100 pesos per night. You are welcome to share the family's laundry, cooking, and TV facilities. I highly recommend El Trebol. You will be welcomed as one of the family. They can help you navigate through what is truly a unique city. Buen viaje! Tell Ayda that Don from Denver sent you.
