Thank you for your upcoming help!

From Phoenix, flying CO to IAH and then on to MLM is more convenient.

If your flight to GDL code-shares with something flying to MLM, that would be another option.

The bus from Guadalajara to Morelia is closer to 4 hours.

I've heard of, but never been to La Posada de San Antonio, http://www.moreliabedandbreakfast.com. I think the area it's in is charming. Calzada Fray Antonio de San Miguel # 350. Tel: (443) 312-37-19

I have been to, but not stayed at, El Meson de Los Remedios, a new, small hotel on Calle Abasolo, Colonia Centro, Morelia. From the tours I've had of the rooms, it's simple but elegant; the breakfast is of the barely Continental variety, (cookies, snack cakes and coffee!) and the neighborhood is less charming, but very central. http://hotelmesonremedios.com/intro.htm. The rates quoted on the Website are actually considerably less in reality; while the "new" period lasts.

Not exactly a B&B, but a charming and eclectic group of two, very centally located habitaciones and one suite, is the Casa de La Rosa, http://casadelarosa.info. The 2-bdr suite has a fully equipped kitchen. And, I have stayed there. (That place should not be confused with the super-luxe, all-suites, La Casa de Las Rosas, on Prieto. http://www.lacasadelasrosas.com.

Then, of course, there's always the top-end Villa Montaña, where I have not stayed, (but have visited) http://www.villamontana.com.mx; some included breakfast packages are available.

Saludos,

The Posada del Artista Hotel and Suites is a great, new B&B in Morelia Centro
Historico.

This B&B is located in a 18th Century mansion on the beautiful parkway of
Calzada Fray Antonio de San Miguel. It has four wonderfully appointed suites, a
courtyard garden, parking and a charming cafe. This B&B is also a galeria and
has impressive works of art for sale which adorn the cantera walls of the
wonderfully restored home.

For more information and rates see: http://www.posadadelartista.com
