Check with the International Friendship Club in Vallarta. I know they are just now starting Spanish language classes on beginner and intermediate levels. I'm sure they could also direct you to a private tutor. You can google them to find an email address.

Maureen Power, who teaches at the IFC, would also do individual tutoring. She is American, but has lived around the world many places and is fluent in Spanish. Her husband is Spanish, their daughter was born in Spain, also.
If you want to contact her, she teaches at the IFC Tuesday and Thursday from 9-11 for beginning, 11-1 for intermediate. I could also send you her email and phone if you'd like.
I think Melchor Cortes of the Spanish School on Calle Viena also does tutoring. He is Mexican, speaks excellent English and has an excellent knowledge of grammar in English and Spanish.
I would not hesitate to recommend either of these people!
Email me if you need more info.
