After reading the article and the multimedia presentation, I doubt (or at least hope) that the knee-jerk response will not be that "Yes, but that happens in the US too". Things are not getting better in the war on drugs and the governmental corruption it spawns.

Thanks for posting that link, Brian.

Drug wars all over Mexico became ever more serious after Francisco Javier Arellano Félix was jailed earlier this year in California.

On another thread here on MexConnect (in the LWR forum under 'Warnings from the US Dept of State re Mexico'), alex posted other important current information.

These guys don't fool around.

Just a brief note to encourage persistence in following Brian's link. I clicked and got told that the file no longer existed. I entered the title in the search box though and got to the sobering video and articles.
