Colonia Miguel Hidalgo

Hi all,

I've seen some condominiums advertised for sale in Xalapa's Colonia Miguel Hidalgo. Does anyone have a sense of what that neighborhood is like? How far from centro? How accessible? Quality of neighborhood? Any feedback would be appreciated, especially from a well-informed Jalapeno like Roy D.

Until Roy can respond with real knowledge, I can tell you that according to my map of the city it is North of the centro, and West of the Parque Macuiltepetl (the extinct volcano). My guess, based upon driving on the surrounding roads is that it would be a convenient location in terms of access to mass transit and shops and an acceptable area in which to live. Roy, of course, will know much more, and I suspect he will be able to tell you something about the condominiums in question since there are not many of these in Xalapa.
