Mariachi Festival

Hi, all, I've searched my newspapers online and the website for the mariachi festival. Man, am I confused! The Guadalajara Reporter says the opening parade is on Sunday and the website for the mariachis says Saturday. It is also my understanding that there is a great charreada with escaramuzas on Sunday at the Lienzo de Charros y Ganaderia in Tlaquepaque on Sunday. I don't really know the time.

Does anyone have any reliable information about these two events??

The inaugural parade for the Mariachi Festival is Saturday, September 2, starting at 2 PM.

I don't have the information about the escaramuza, but here is the direct number for the Mariachi Festival at the Cámara de Comercio: 3880-9070 (it's on the website).

Could you please post back here when you get the information?

Thanks, Georgia.

Well, on the official website they've deleted the time of the parade now. And my friend in Tlaquepaque says she has an announcement of the program that the parade is at 5 on Saturday. Ah,, Mexico!

A really brilliant move by the organizers: an evening parade during the rainy season.

Now if I could just nail down the info about the charreada on Sunday in Tlaquepaque, life would be good.

Thanks, Esperanza.
