A week ago last Friday, we made an enjoyable drive with two visitors from NYC, around Lake Pįtzcuaro. This time we stopped briefly at the Mescalerķa near the lakeshore at Oponguio.
This is an interesting operation, and visitors are informally welcomed and offered free samples of both mescal and tequila. The bottles of spirits sell for, I think, $80MXP each.
