What can one bring in car

We plan to spend the month of December in Mazatlan and plan to drive down through Nogales. We would like to bring a few extra things just for our stay there, like a fan, perhaps a small tv, some household items as we will be renting a small apartment there. My question is: would the border authorities object to us bringing in these items if they are only travel necessities and we plan to take them out again at the time when we leave? Are there any special papers required to do this?

Yes, you can bring those things. It is possible, though unlikely, that you would be required to pay a small duty on some of the items. Here is a list of things that are always duty-free and a list of forbidden items: http://rollybrook.com/dutyfree.htm
