Directions to Costco from Ajijic

We are planning to drive from Ajijic to Costco and Wal-mart tomorrow (Sunday) for the first time. I am wondering whether it is better to take Lopez Mateos or Avenida Vallarta from the Periferico.

Lopez Mateos looks shorter, but Avenida Vallarta seems to circle around the congested area of the city. Any advice from folks more familiar with the area would be greatly appreciated.

Take the Avenida Vallarta exit from the Periférico. After you turn onto Avenida Vallarta, stay in the far right-hand lane (the lateral lane) until you come to the corner of Vallarta and Rafael Sánzio. There is a traffic light there. You'll see the Wal-Mart/Sam's Club/Galerías complex on your right and Costco across the street. Turn right onto Rafael Sánzio and get into the far left-hand lane. Turn left at the next traffic light and you'll be in the Costco parking lot.

Thank you for the advice. This is our first longish visit Lakeside and we are off to stock up on equipment and supplies.
