I think you will be able to find most things in SMA. There are two large markets one in centro next to the Civic Plaza and one a few blocks west at San Juan de Dios. However there is a tienda on Mesones between Relox and Juarez just a couple of doors east of Bonanza, (a grocery store with almost everything imaginable by the way except fresh fruit and veg), that has a reputation for being one of the best in town. Just a door or two east of that is also a butcher shop that has an equally good rep. If you insist on organic you will have to go down to El Tomate on Codo where, incidentally, there is a young street vendor just outside of the corner grocery store selling a good variety of fresh fruit and veg of very good quality. Barbeque Bob's a km further south of El Tomate on Salida de Celaya also claim some organic produce. If you can't find what you need in one of those there is always Gigante where the weekend will usually yield whatever you are looking for and in my opinion, as good quality-wise as anywhere even tho the store itself leaves a good deal to be desired (a recent fire there has not hleped). dondon
