Guadalajara connection options?

This is a bit off the topic, but Monday and Tuesday, according to the McAfee speed test, I was gettin 200 but paying for 1000.

Since I work on the Internet all day, I need a reliable connection and Infinitum has been pretty good overall. I'd give them a 90 over 3 years time (except for the script-reading college kids on the Customer Service line -- they get a failing grade). It almost never goes down here by the Del Carmen Hospital.

I'm seriously considering a backup account with ATT. For 800 p/month + IVA I'll get a wireless phone line and wireless internet at the basic Infinitum speed. Plus unlimited local calls, cheaper calls to cell phones than with Telmex and competitive LD.

This would be a backup to the Infinitum account. VERY expensive.

Telecable de Zapopan is also available here but their service is renowned for being awful. If it has improved as they claim, it hasn't caught up with their reputation yet.

I will check out Verizon - thanks!

Song_of_joy, have you checked to see if Megacable Internet is available in your neck of the woods? When I lived near where you live, that's the service I used. It was 99% reliable and very fast, 1000kb for 399/month plus IVA. If I could get Megacable where I am in Zapopan, I'd switch back (from Prodigy) in a heartbeat. Unfortunately only Telecable services this area.
