Browsing through the Baja California and BCS section, I failed to find any conversation about the Ease Cape region of BCS. I thought a little background on some activities in the Los Barriles-Buena Vista area may be enlightening. The Asociacion de Artes del Mar de Cortez A.C. is an active Mexican non-profit organization dedicated to providing arts and education programs for our cohesive multicultural community. We have just completed our 13th annual Festival de Artes (April 2, 2006) with over 100 regional artists showing and selling their original creations. The fall Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair will be held on December 3, 2006.The East Cape Guild raises funds for student scholarships. A.L.M.A. is involved in monthly clinics for local dogs and cats along with Vet referrals for sick animals. The new Rotary Club is becoming active in community events. We even have a Shakespeare Festival every year in the spring. The local newspaper, East Capers, is published every two months with interesting articles on the area.
