LANDOWNER LIABILITY PROTECTION DURING CONSTRUCTION (FOR WORKER ACCIDENTS, INJURIES)
Bubba's comments have raised a question for me, as we expect to start construction of a new home once our existing home is sold: Is there a recommended insurance option that will work only during the construction phase? We expect to make the (required) IMSS contribution for each worker on site, but are now wondering if there are additional safeguards we should put in place during this transition period. TIA for any guidance..............Dutch

Hmm. I did not realize that an IMSS contribution is required for all workers during a construction project. That's a good thing. Anyone know whether this applies to small "replacement" projects, like a front gate or windows, or just to "new" construction for which a building permit is required?

Simple maintenance projects don't require dealing with IMSS, but major construction certainly does.

One of the reasons for signing up your workers is so they will be covered by IMSS insurance in case of an accident on job. I never considered additional insurance for my projects.
