Star Choice question

Hi Pete,

I am thinking about getting a new 1.3 meter disk for my star choice system. The local fellow that put in my DSS dish said that he will get and install a disk for 200 USD which I think is reasonable. The problem is that he has never installed a Star Choice disk and does not know the name of the satellite star choice uses or the stuff he needs to know to point the disk. Could you please tell me what I need to tell him. Thanks Jerry

Sure. You will be wanting to point the satellite dish at 107.3 degrees West. The name of the satellite located at that spot in space is called Anik F-1R.

You might check with Ed Linfoot. I do not know what he charges but it might be less and he knows all about Star Choice. Call me at my home number if you are interested. Right now the telephones are out again in parts of Ajijic to include my house. So you may have to use a phone book to get his tel #.
