Does anybody know if there is a cell phone kiosk, like Telcel or IUSACELL, at the Guadalaraja airport?

Yes, there are a variety of telephones in the airport. I have used them up in the departure area and they are probably along the walls in the main terminal also.

Are you asking whether or not there is a Kiosk where you can buy cell phone accessories or cell time at the GDL airport? Neither I nor two friends one of whom just flew in Tuesday remember that there are any at the GDL airport. (I hope we are wrong) However their are plenty in Guadalajara, and if your destination is Ajijic, they are quite easy to find.

I was asking if there was a place at the airport to buy phones or add time to existing phones. I read the article by R Ferguson here http://www.mexconnect.com/...on/rfcellphones.html . We are planning to come down in June and will be bringing our 17 year old son. Cell phones would be a good way to keep in touch if he chooses to explore without the folks. And handling the purchase at the airport would be convenient. I was planning to buy a couple of cheap Tracfones to bring and have them programmed for local service. Will that work? We will spend most of the time in Guadalajara but may visit Lakeside for a day or two.

I thought that was what you meant. The people I asked don't remember them being there (GDL) but reminded me such Kiosks are all over the place to include the Gran Plaza, where I would normally go.

PS They said there was always a chance there was one at the airport, because they are most everywhere, but they don't remember any being there. They said there would be no problem finding a cell phone outlet, because as I just said, they are everywhere.

We have never flown into GDL. Is Gran Plaza near the airport?

I'm sorry. The Gran plaza is not that near the airport. point was that once you get to the hotel where ever that may be or if you ask the taxi driver to stop off on the way, it will be no problem.

My point is that these types of kiosks are all over the place and will not be hard to find.

Sure, all over the place. Well maybe not all over the place, For example across the street from Telmex to the right of the CIA in Ajijic is a TelCel Store. You can also find one just 30 meters east of Domino's by the cutoff , you know on the other side of the street than tubolandia (spelling?)

Thanks. That solves my problem. Maybe it helps the original poster also. If he's coming here from the airport, he can just wait until he is here.
